The Ottenstein Estate

Preserving the good. Create something new. With organic products, regional delicacies and idyllic holiday opportunities at the reservoir, you will experience unforgettable impressions in harmony with nature.

The Windhag - Scholarship Foundation of the Province of Lower Austria: Preserving the good. Creating something new.
The Windhag - Scholarship Foundation for Lower Austria was founded in 1670 by Count Joachim von Windhag. It owns the Ottenstein estate with almost 3200 hectares as well as apartment blocks in Vienna. Count Joachim Enzmilner von Windhag donated a large part of his fortune to enable needy and talented young people to study. For almost 350 years, this charitable task has been responsibly carried out and continued by the foundation.

Preserving values. Creating the future.
This slogan has been a living reality in all business areas since the Windhag Scholarship Foundation for Lower Austria was founded. Gut Ottenstein offers a wide range of products and experiences! The farm and ponds have been farmed organically for almost 25 years. The direct marketing products range from the famous Waldviertel carp and other types of fish from the organic ponds to venison. Freshly caught crayfish, catfish and various wild fish species from the Ottensteiner & Dobra reservoirs are offered seasonally and on advance order.
